Shana Silva is a mother of four. Her family identifies as relaxed homeschoolers, with a deep desire to worldschool in the future. In 2007, she and her husband Bill founded a solar company, United Renewable Energy, where she served as in-house counsel and Chief Operations Officer for over a decade. She holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and is an attorney and member of the GA Bar. She has served on the board of Georgia Solar Energy Association, URE and Equal Access to Justice. Her passions include drama, travel, reading contracts, huge platters of food, and awesome resolutions to seemingly insurmountable problems.
Ana Martin is Vice President of the STAC Board and chair of the operations committee. She is a procedure-optimizing enthusiast with a love of elegant systems that save space, time, and effort. If you see a procedure or system that needs some TLC, bring it to her attention. Ana’s two children (17 and 13) have been homeschooling her since they were born. They think she’s coming along nicely.
Becky Speir is Secretary of the STAC Board. She is mom to Ethan and Molly, a full time nurse, and a crazy cat lady. Becky is the chair of the communications committee and also a member of the classes and activities committee, so if you know someone interested in teaching at STAC or have a kid who wants to start a club, send them her way!
Jenn Casey has been involved with STAC from its inception and was our founding Vice President. She is also an instructor. After stepping down last year as VP, Jenn served on the Operations Committee and Finance Committee. Jenn is an entrepreneur several times over, and has an MBA from KSU. Jenn is also the founding Treasurer of another non-profit start-up, the American Kettlebell Lifters Union. Jenn brings experience in financial and strategic analysis and is committed to financial transparency in the role of STAC treasurer.
Libby Mathis is the mother of 3 children, Eva (13), Chloe (11), and Eric (7). She is a founding member of STAC and has served as a Member at Large for the past 2 years, as well as co-coordinator for Play, Create, Learn! With her focus on Community Building, Libby has worked on many of the activities and events we have at STAC. She is also an instructor, specializing in Art and STEAM classes.
I’m Michelle Salas, homeschooling mom to 3 boys. I was born in Mexico and lived in and near Mexico City for 25 years. I moved to the US in 2007, and after moving to GA in 2013, I opened a custom cake studio, where I learned about social media marketing and management skills. I’ve been coordinating all STAC marketing for a year, and I look forward to helping build and grow the STAC community!
Misty Holm is a member of the board and Classes and Activities Chair. If you would like to make ‘official’ use of any space at STAC (start a club, teach a class, offer a workshop, etc.), let her know! Her awesome committee will help you make it happen. She also teaches all kinds of classes at STAC and is coming up with new ones all the time. In her spare time she has been homeschooling her own two kids, ages 10 and 13, since kindergarten.
