Sue has a BFA in Medical Illustration and spent 16 years in that industry. In 2011 she decided she was no longer happy, so she quit her job and went to Culinary School. After spending 5 amazing years as a Chef/Restaurant Manager, she decided it was time to start her own business, and Leaf and Loaf, llc was born. Chef Sue does catering and is involved in educating adults and children. The Fun with Food program was born in 2015, and Chef Sue started going into elementary schools to provide children an opportunity to experiment, taste, smell, assemble, cut, cook, and play with food. Fun with Food focuses on healthy, nutritious, and beautiful food (with an occasional “treat”) and is a space for open exploration and experimentation with flavors, textures, foods, and ideas. All food is vegan or vegetarian. When Sue is not playing with food or working on her business, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenaged kids, kayaking, napping, playing games, and playing with dogs.

Fun with Food
Target Ages: Elementary and Middle School
Min/Max Students: 8/12
Class Times: Tuesday 11:30 – 12:25
Class Dates: Sept. 3 – Dec. 3 (12 weeks; no class 9/24)
Description: In Fun with Food we experiment, taste, smell, assemble, cut, cook and play with food. We learn about healthy eating habits, food appreciation, nutrition and beauty. We taste new foods, we incorporate math+science+art, learn about kitchen safety, sanitation and lots more! Food is Vegan/Vegetarian. Students will take food home each class, will create a cookbook along our journey and will receive Fun with Food merchandise such as t-shirts, stickers, etc.

Homework: NONE!!!! Just play in the kitchen.
